This is the third rice cooker we've owned. It replaces a cheaper and smaller Panasonic model we have been pleased with for several years.
This cooker is a little larger than anticipated. We really like the bigger bowl we have for cooking the rice. And, as you would expect, it is well made and has a rubber seal around the inside of the hinged lid.
Thus far, we have used the cooker mostly for rice. However, we have tried the steamer and found it to be a big plus. We usually mix frozen assortment of vegetables with rice after cooking the two separately. The large steamer in the rice cooker means we can cook the vegetables at the same time as the rice without wasting energy or having to use multiple appliances. That has worked out quite well for us. Another other bonus is that when we cook a pre-prepared meal we often end up with a plastic sachet of sauce (e.g., Mandarin chicken sauce) that we have to again heat separately.
